How do supply transfer switching and continuous monitoring differ?
Maintaining supply, monitoring insulation condition and informing staff are different duties in a medical IT system. ATICS®-…-ISO provides an integrated transfer switching and monitoring approach. isoMED427P operates as an independent insulation monitoring component.

Manages automatic transfer between two independent supplies. The ISO variant also provides integrated monitoring of medical IT insulation condition and transformer load and temperature.

ISOMETER® isoMED427P
Continuously monitors the insulation resistance of the medical IT circuit. Evaluates transformer load through a suitable current transformer and transformer temperature through a temperature sensor; it does not perform automatic supply transfer.

These two explanations show different system architectures. ATICS-ISO includes integrated monitoring, so this does not mean that every medical IT system also needs a separate isoMED427P. Components are selected according to the system architecture and the selected variant’s functions.
